Table of exercises CareArm
Designed jointly with I3PT, Institut d’Investigació Parc Taulí, CareArm is an exercise board intended for postoperative recovery to prevent lymphedema in patients undergoing breast cancer surgery.

The solution was determined by a medical study that would demonstrate the improvement of the pathology through the prescribed use of a series of exercises, so our work as designers was based mainly on three lines of action:
On the one hand, designing an element that, with a very simple use, would allow all the necessary exercises for the treatment. Likewise, the project required a digital platform in which to establish and program the routines; a graphic-document base with which to carry out the exercises in the appropriate way, guaranteeing recovery and also better understanding the scope of the pathology.
From the functional, structural and formal point of view, we set out to create a close, friendly and very clear object at a communicative level, which would move away from the typical prosthetic language and would not cause rejection or remind patients of their illness continuously; a funny device. It should be noted that we have achieved a typology that has allowed its implementation at a domestic level, offering much more comfort to patients, who go to the hospital less often, which has a positive impact on a psychological level.
Finally, the project approach had to allow for the undertaking of a clinical trial, so we always took into account its materialisation, minimising costs, improving deadlines and allowing the absorption of modifications.

The result is a high-quality and durable exercise board, a very friendly element that is placed discreetly behind a door and comes with a cloth bag case, making it easy to transport.
